Our special place

Upcoming event: Sunday, June 23, 1 p.m. “GOTV Training: Registration and Advance Ballots”, CCD Headquarters, 217A N. Broadway.

In between the long hours needed for election work, volunteers have been giving of their time and talents to make our headquarters a warm, welcoming place. There is a beautiful garden under design by the back entrance. There is original artwork on loan by military veteran, Rick Fulton (who says he would also love to share his humorous depictions of #45).

And, recently added is a very nice, original piece of art by Elizabeth Arthur Babcock, daughter of Gregg and Janice Arthur. Elizabeth lives in Raymore, MO, with her husband, Russ, daughter Arie and twin sons, Raiden and Remy. According to Janice, our party’s secretary, “When we got the HQ, I asked her to create an image of a donkey. This is what she created. She incorporated images pertaining to Kansas: bees, wheat, a salamander, a meadowlark and of course, sunflowers.”

Thank you to everyone who has worked to make our special place truly a welcoming one.
