‘Liberal Ladies’ report

Liberal Ladies Who Lunch met on Wednesday, the 9th, at noon, at Dem HQ. Lillian shared a brochure about the Church of the Resurrection in KC. Very much in line with our beliefs. If you want more info ask Lillian. I would also recommend Unity Temple on the Plaza.

We discussed the need for writing postcards to registered Dems who are low propensity voters. These are always available to work on.

I am having trouble reading my writing. I have something about Penny and her daughter and a casino.

Harriet reminded us about a Bingo 6:30 fundraiser after the Meet and Greet at Root. Emily spoke about the musical fundraiser for Jordan in Columbus. Also, there is a fundraiser at the Frisco on 10/15 for Jordan and Sally Harryman came to talk about baskets for the Silent Auction.

Delma asked for prayers for her two daughters in Florida during the Hurricane.

There was a discussion about the Homecoming Parade and our float. Walkers and riders are needed.

We met again on 10/23.

I played a CD called Musical Accupuncture that has tones at 60 beats a minute and slows to 50 beats. It has helped my election anxiety. Ruth and Jean discussed other valuable uses of music.

Nancy Fredette read a song "I Am Australian" with new lyrics by Don Viney and a new title "I Am American."  A small excerpt:

“We are one. .  .

I'm a daughter of a pioneer, a mother who can vote.

I am Rosa Parks on a bus, Annie Moore just off the boat.

I am Rosie the Riveter who works with her heart and hands.

I'm a woman,  I'm a citizen,

I am American.”

That part just seemed to honor us as women.  Could we find the music to this and sing it?!  I have a copy of the words at HQ if anyone else wants them.  Maybe Don Viney would come and sing with us....?

Nancy Fredette has some diabetic medicine that is unopened and refrigerated, Lisipro.  Check with her if you could use it.

We meet again on 11/6, at noon, at Dem HQ.
