An appeal for decency

Having served as an ordained minister for more than fifty years, I tried during those years to be non-partisan in any public situation. Some may be surprised or even annoyed that I am taking a stand against MAGA. Many of my family members and friends may have had different points of view than mine, but I never doubted they were good citizens, patriots, and wonderful people.

Contrary to some Christian leaders, I believe Donald Trump's actions, words, and his conviction as a felon do not reflect the Republican Party I knew growing up. Calling people trash, immigrants as rapists and murderers and lying that immigrants are invading Amierca is wrong. We lived on the southern border for more than 35 years. I knew many undocumented workers who were good and decent people.

A bi-partisan immigration bill was up for a Congressional vote. Donald Trump told Republican members of Congress to kill the bill. He didn't want it to be a "gift" to the Democrats.

Ethics, morality, civility and common decency are important to me. Are they important to you? Consider your best vision for America when you vote.
